Elizabeth A. McGlynn, Associate Director for RAND Health, The RAND Corporation

Elizabeth A. McGlynn, Ph.D. is an Associate Director for RAND Health and holds the RAND Distinguished Chair in Health Care Quality. Dr. McGlynn is an internationally known expert on methods for assessing and reporting on quality of health care delivery. Dr. McGlynn is leading RAND Health's COMPARE initiative, which evaluates health policy options under consideration at the federal and state level. She is conducting research on the methodological and policy issues associated with implementing measures of efficiency and effectiveness of care at the individual physician level for payment and public reporting. She recently led a project for the state of Massachusetts to evaluate policy options for controlling the increase in health care spending. She is a member of the Institute of Medicine and serves on several national advisory committees. She is on the board of AcademyHealth and is the vice chair of the Board of Providence-Little Company of Mary Hospital Service Area in Southern California.
