Health Care: Commissioners Leave Toughest Medical Loss Ratio Calls to HHS

John D. Dingell has represented Michigan's 15th Congressional District for the past 54 years. He currently serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which has jurisdiction over health care issues including Medicare and Medicaid. Dingell has introduced H.R. 15, a bill to create a universal healthcare system in the United States, in each Congress since he was elected in 1955. He has taken an active and leading role to expand access to healthcare and to protect patients. Dingell is now the longest serving member of the House of Representatives or the "dean" of the House and is the second longest serving member in our nation's history.
